Oxford Health Hub
A live build project, carried out in my second year at Oxford Brookes. The brief asked for the design and building of a 'Digital Health Hub' at the John Radcliff Hospital in Oxford.
A Live Project
Throughout the year, the project was broken down into design stages. Allowing the unit to work individually, slowing building into bigger groups and solving refined details. Working in stages from concept design down to construction details.

Refining Stages
When a competition winner was chosen, from the initial concept stage, we broke into refining teams. This allowed us to fully understand the concept and configuration of the volumes, pushing the scheme to work cohesively with the units collective intention and eventual public use.

Knauf Experiments
The project was sponsored by Knauf, this lead us on a path to experiment. Wanting to understand the limitation and possibility of the material, looking specifically at changing its texture, bleaching or dyeing the compressed plasterboard.

Structural Devlopment
Reasoning
Further dividing the groups, I looked at the structure of building 2. Refining the exposed roof structure, narrowing in on the use of a double-layered truss system.
During this stage, we meet with structural engineers and timber experts. This meant the issuing of construction drawings to allow for clear and concise conversations.
